We are a major player in the field of nanotechnology
As a cluster organization, we operate at the highest European level. We represent the interests of our members, which include manufacturing companies, research institutions, and universities. Together, we support the development of more than 10 globally unique devices for nanofiber production, dozens of products, patents, and utility models. We have established shared centers offering open access to our established technological infrastructure.
In addition, we actively influence developments in the Czech and international cluster community through our representative on the board National cluster association and the Central European Metacluster CEDEG.

In 2024, the National Cluster Association presented this award to our organization in recognition of our longstanding leadership in connecting research institutions and the business sector. Award for Shaping the Regional Innovation Ecosystem
The National Cluster Association awarded our organization this award in 2021 for developing a regional innovation ecosystem, systematically building innovation infrastructure, and supporting regional partnerships. This recognition underscores our role as one of the pillars of the innovation dynamic of the Czech Republic.
European Strategic Cluster Partnership of the Year
In 2019, the European Commission recognized NANOPROGRESS for initiating and leading the AdPack European Cluster Partnership, which brought together leading technology-oriented clusters across the continent. This recognition reflects our contribution to European integration in the field of advanced technologies and international cooperation.

Golden Cluster 2016
The National Cluster Association has awarded our organization the "Golden Cluster" honorary award for the most dynamic growth in terms of performance. In the evaluation of cluster organizations conducted by the NCA and FaME UTB between 2012 and 2016, NANOPROGRESS rose from 27th to 3rd place.

Business Project of the Year 2014
CzechInvest, in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, named NANOPROGRESS “Project of the Year” in the “Business Cooperation – Clusters” category. As a result, we have been recognized as one of the most successful national projects funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

Development
Our managers and technology experts are dedicated to our member organizations and ensure the smooth running of innovation projects. Thanks to our unique knowledge and experience, we have high success rate with applications and management of the projects themselves.
We identify relevant opportunities for our members and select the most suitable domestic and international grant programs.
We form project consortia consisting of our members as well as a network of trusted international partners.
We manage innovative projects including their planning. Internal steering committees oversee the clarity and transparency of the entire process.

One of our goals is to strengthen our members’ professional skills through training programs, workshops, and individual counseling. We share our expertise in research, innovation, and project management based on the current needs of each organization.

Who is behind NANOPROGRESS
Ing. Luboš Komárek, MSc.
Chairman of the BoardLuboš graduated from Brno University of Technology and ISCTE in Lisbon. After spending eight years abroad, he returned to the Czech Republic to pursue research, in which he remains actively involved. He is currently responsible for managing the cluster, its development, presenting our activities at thematic events, and establishing cooperation with partners. Luboš is also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Cluster Association and the Central European Metacluster CEDEG.
Mgr. Martin Šlais, Ph.D.
CSOMartin graduated from the Faculty of Science at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno. As Head of Research and Development, he oversees specialized projects and professional teams focused on research into functionalized nanofiber structures.
Dr. Miloslav Drbálek
Member of the board of directorsMiloslav graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague. As a lawyer, he is responsible within the cluster for drafting contracts and public procurement documents, as well as for announcing and conducting tenders, including communication with participants. He also prepares written opinions regarding audits.
Ing. Tomáš Janoušek
Technical managerTomáš holds a degree in Nanotechnology from the Technical University of Liberec. He oversees the cluster’s facilities and laboratories. He also manages technological development, coordination, and the implementation of work within research, development, and application projects involving nanostructures.
Ing. Lucie Ligasová, Ph.D.
Cluster ManagerCluster Manager for Technical Management Lucie holds a degree in Textile Materials Engineering from the Technical University of Liberec (TUL) and is a member of the Liberec Region Council for Research, Development, and Innovation (RVVI LK). Within the cluster, she focuses on project management and supervising project managers, consulting, communicating with key domestic and international partners, representing the cluster, and marketing and PR.
Ing. et Ing. Anna Marytová
Cluster ManagerCluster Manager for Financial Management Anna graduated from the University of Economics in Prague and the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. She is responsible for the financial management of projects and for supervising project managers. She represents our activities abroad, identifies new niche markets, and promotes the involvement of the cluster and its members in international cooperation.
Ing. Jiří Mikeš, MBA
Project ManagerJiří holds degrees in Fermentation Chemistry and Bioengineering from the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague, and in Finance from the University of Economics, Prague. Within the cluster, he is responsible for technology scouting and its application in strengthening cooperation with commercial and academic.
Karel Havlíček, Ph.D.
Product and Project ManagerKarel graduated from the Technical University of Liberec with a focus on nanotechnology and is a member of the Liberec Region Council for Research, Development, and Innovation (RVVI LK). At our company, he prepares and manages research projects and is responsible for product.
Ing. Vojtech Cernik
AccountantVojtěch has many years of experience in project management and coordination, process management, and project financial analysis. As the chief accountant, he is involved in the cluster’s financial.
Ing. Jana Černikova
AccountantJana has a degree in economics and extensive experience in the field. She processes payroll and prepares documents related to payroll taxes for the Cluster.
Iva Liznerová
Cluster AssistantIva has many years of experience managing an administrative office. Her main responsibilities include maintaining operational records, preparing materials for meetings, and compiling statistics and the member database.
Kamila Janečková
Office ManagerKamila is an experienced assistant to senior executives and major international companies. Her role is to manage the office and handle the cluster chair’s schedule, including PR and communications.
Mgr. Jan Vanžura
Project ManagerJan graduated from the Faculty of Science at Charles University and has dedicated his career to supporting innovation, research, and strategic development. He has extensive experience in project management, grant programs, and international collaboration. At our organization, he oversees the preparation of project proposals, coordinates team activities, and establishes effective processes in the areas of research, development, and innovation.
Dr. Lenka Řehaková
Quality ControlLenka graduated from the Faculty of Science at Charles University, where she earned a Ph.D. in animal physiology. She has many years of experience leading research and development projects, including preparing project proposals and managing teams. At NANOPROGRESS, she is responsible for quality control and the implementation of research and development activities.
Ing. Michal Puchrík
Senior TechnicianMichal has many years of experience in the preparation and characterization of nanofiber structures. In the laboratory, he focuses on related research and development.
Ing. Matěj Holeček
LaborerMatěj is currently pursuing a master’s degree in nanotechnology at TUL. He gained practical experience during a research internship at the Waterloo Institute for Nanotechnology in Canada, among other places. As part of the team, he contributes to the research and development of nanofiber structures for industrial applications.
